Its been a while since since there’s been any trends worth talking about, But for this post there is 2! It’s been a really hot summer this year and even though its almost over the Hot temperature is sure to linger for a while. Which makes the first trend functional as well as stylish. Roll up your sleeves gentlemen and I’m talking about your short sleeves. A 1 1/2 cuff would do real nice. It looked good on James Dean so why not try it. The second trend on Radar is loose fitting shirts. Not over sized tops down to your thighs, but a wider cut. You could even go a size bigger on your hanes Tee. Keep your bottoms straight fit or slim and the combination works real well. Cheers.

Continuing with this series of post dedicated to 1 store in your closest mall is J.Crew. Jcrew has been one of my favorite mall stores for quite some time. Their catalogs have an extensive amount of garments and accessories all constructed well and done with attention to detail. Jcrew has been around for over 20 years and with today’s fashion veering towards classic Americana and a more Polished gentleman the brand is at the top of their game. Below are three different looks from head to toe from the office to the beach and ending it all with a pint at the Pub. Its still warm out so unless your wearing a boot you Don’t have to wear socks. Friday is rapidly approaching and your in need of some new wears for an evening out or a BBQ the next day, or just want something relaxing to wear for a day at the park. The point is Your in the market for some new clothes. I’ve been in this situation before and without the time to go to different places to get one thing and then the other. With that in mind this is the first post of a series of 5 that focuses on one store or label where you can get suited from head to toe. The most common place many people go to when shopping is the mall. If you don’t have the luxury of being near some of the great men’s shop in NYC or anywhere else for that matter in the States the mall is the next best thing. Starting off this series will be (Urban Outfitters). UO is a Unisex store that carries a lot of independent designers as well as established. Aside from UO own products They often collaborate with different designers to create product specifically for their stores. Thumbs up to the buyers for such an eclectic selection of clothes as well as home furnishings. When ever I head into this store chances are I’m leaving with a bag in my hand. The first ensemble is styled for a Wedding. Daytime preferably. Navy Blazer with a contrast collar button front some khaki trousers, boat shoes and accessories with color to add a little more. Unfortunately no pocket squares available. A plain white handkerchief folded neatly peaking through about a half an inch from your top blazer pocket will do fine.

Next up is the always filling and fun BBQ. You want to keep in mind a few things when putting something together for your day out. Your outside for most of the day so light color, loose fitting clothes are comfortable for a lengthy time under the sun. For all that sun your gonna need some shades so choose a pair of sunglasses you can keep on your face for a while.

If you have a Bike chances are your out and about somewhere and will probably end up in a park. On that note this is what you want to wear riding your bike and also when your laying on that park green. Some loose and light twill drawstring pants with a Tank top. Since your biking you should op for some plastic shades. Retro Super future has some well designed selections. Enjoy your summer. Cheers…

This is the first post covering Cinema, But last night I had an evening at the local theaters and had the opportunity to watch the movie (Inception) the one word I can choose to best describe it is “Amazing”. It was well written, well shot with superb performances by Leonardo Di Caprio as well as the entire cast. I must also admit how much I enjoyed the wardrobe in almost all scenes. Not overkill but well stated garments, good fits with attention to details that I caught here and there. If your looking for something to do this weekend go have a sit and watch. What Not To Wear!

GD.C is back and in the nick of time! As I’ve been out and about I just keep seeing so many things wrong that shouldn’t be happening. I love fashion as much as the next person, probably a bit more, but theres just some things a man should NOT do. So without further delay I present to you what not to wear this season.

1. With all do Respect to the late Great King of Pop. No one should wear white socks with Black shoes. Grey, Black or any other color for that matter will do and yes people can see your socks under those pants.2.This picture alone makes me laugh and even though Zach Galifianakis is on the cover of GQ this month, still no man should tuck his Tshirt in. Thats it, nothing more to it.

3.Unless your one of these gentlemen do Not wear sunglasses at night. Is it really necessary to put on a pair of Blue Blockers when going to the supermarket or Lounge in the evening. 4. In case you haven’t noticed its summertime outside. Its 90 degrees outside and people are melting so why do you have a ski hat on?

5. FYI an ear piece is not an accessory it should stay in your car when you leave it, Please.6. Unless your 16 years old and go to highschool No grown man should be wearing socks with sandals. Drop the socks and let the toes breathe.

After The Party

The launch party was quite an event. Plenty of people showed and new friends were made. More importantly “Polished Penny” is up and running. Here’s a little background on the label and how it came to be. For some time now I’ve wanted to put out a product that was a reflection of my self the clothes I wear, would like to wear and appreciate. However to create an idea and execute it on your own is not the easiest thing to do, To say the least. Fast forward to earlier this year I meet my business partner Mr. Ian C. Irlanda (a polished gentleman in every right) and we begin the blue print for “Polished Penny”. We wanted to create a brand that encompasses the Classic gentleman with runway influence and New york Roots cause that’s who makes us and so we did. Without further ado we give you “Polished Penny“. Thank you to all our Family and friends who came out to celebrate the evening.

Ive been working with a team of gentlemen and together we have created a Brand called “Polish Penny”. Classic American wear with Runway influence for Every man. So whats new with shades? There have been some trends coming back to life like the John Lennon rounded sunglasses. Wayfarers and Aviators are still doing well and the Blue Blocker style is still pushing along also. Lets move away from round silhouette’s and step into something more square. I’ve been catching an eye full of attractive square sunglasses this summer on folks and from labels. I know sunglasses can be an accessory some can do without especially if you tend to lose them, but If your the kind of person who cant hold onto a pair of sunglasses for a long time you might want to look into investing in a lower price point label. Knockaround sunglasses and forever 21 offer some nice selections at extremely reasonable prices. Try out some more square frames if you wanna step away from same old. Cheers.

Its time to 86 your cargo shorts or board shorts and get into a pair of trouser shorts. Jeans have tightened up and guess what, shorts have gotten shorter. T-Shirts

Some people say a T-shirt is just a T-shirt as if it’s nothing to pay attention to or maybe they’re all the same. Not true! The selection of T-shirts today is endless. There are different cuts some that are produced longer and others shorter. V-neck, Crew neck, raglan, Scoop neck and Henley. At the end of it all, there’s something for everyone. Personally, I don’t have many graphic T-shirts, but I do like tour shirts and tour style T-shirts. This summer I see some nautical stripes on the radar as well as more heather fabrics. No rules apply when wearing your T-shirt EXCEPT, Never wear a T-shirt tucked in and it shouldn’t look like its painted on either. Try and keep the hem of the shirt (the end) at your waist or just below. Your top shouldn’t look like a sleeping gown. Below are some sharp selections. Cheers…
