Fashion week has passed and even though i wish it could be the whole month, this year had some superb collections. A lot of times, collections seem to be redundant to me. Same thing going on with every label at the same time. This year’s Fall 10 collections had some of the same because trends are the now and I guess you have to give the market what’s popular at the moment but the trends that are happening this year are magnificent. There’s some real interesting fabric blocking, color combinations that play together so well and some style revivement such as the British Mod look from Junya Wattanabe that’s just amazing! Since there’s quite a few design Faves to cover I will deliver this post in 6 parts. Covering 6 different labels Starting with a Fairly new label “Spurr” but not designer Simon Spurr. I remember reading an article in GQ on Simon Spurr a few years ago and being caught by the simple but detailed pieces Spurr created. A Beautiful motorcycle cruiser leather jacket comes to mind and the way the garments were merchandised. His Fall 10 collection really speaks for itself. The color palette has more than just dark tones. He combines heather like sweater knit and some wine color and burgundy. Some great layering and choice of hats are exactly what you’ll find downtown in NYC. All the pieces are something any man would wear even if he’s not fashion forward. They’re sharp enough for a fashion snob yet appealing enough for a fella who likes a well fitted suit that’s not caught up on labels.
