Mix, Blend & Fuse Styles

0 Comments 23 November 2009

Continuing with one of our favorite post, Style Fusing we are covering 2 styles that are from different sides of the spectrum but blend well. Camping wear and Street Wear. As we said in our previous post on style fusing there are trends that last the test of time. These trends have been tried and tested and remain or come full circle. Camper wear or outdoors wear is being blended into many labels or is the complete focus of many collections from runway designers such as Junya Wattanabe’s beautifully constructed outerwear to the Gap’s Plaid and flannel inspired collection this year. Camping wear is made for outside so expect heavier fabrics, insulated garments and details with leather trims or adjustable straps. Details that are functional details that we love because it gives more to the garment but doesn’t take away by trying to add something that doesn’t belong. The thing is as much as we love this style of clothes we’re not trying to have an evening out in a lounge looking as if we just got back from a weekend camping at Yellowstone park. The fusion of Camping wear and Street wear or City wear is a perfect compliment. Some slick fitted dark jeans with a Plaid flannel a Knit ski hat and Moccasin style boots with a vest is where we’re going. A good fit is the key element with this look. So when shopping take time to try on the shirt ,Jacket , Cords etc.. because the point is the clothes should look like they fit you, not someone bigger or smaller. Enjoy.
