Have you ever heard the saying, The shoe makes the man? If not, you heard it here because we believe a shoe can make any ensemble fly or die. A right shoe that is. With so many awesome shoes to chose from we’ve decided to cover one of our favorites with jeans and a suit, the Wing Tip. POW!!
Seriously though, this shoe has been around for quite some time. Originating from Scotland and Ireland they were referred to as Brogues. Here in the States we renamed them Wing Tips because of their W shaped cap toe piecing. Originally the Holes or perforation that you see in the shoe were made for drainage because of the areas the gentleman who wore them worked in were soggy and mucky so it was functional. However, the wing tip was not perceived to be that of a classier shoe but rather your working shoe. Fast forward to today and to our take on this great shoe it can be worn almost anywhere. With such detail in the perforation and fine leather a good shoemaker can create a piece of art that can be worn for quite a while. A man’s shoe with wear and shine develops more character. So with that said you can wear a Wing Tip with your denim and your suit but don’t push it with the Tux. Cheers.
